God Bless America

Woke up late for the first time on the trip today - Headed back to Mount Rushmore to get a good look during the clear daylight - got some good shots, but then it rained on us again. Took Iron Mountain Road to get there - Nothing like this road in NY - but some incredible views especially of Mt. Rushmore from miles away. Next we headed to the Crazy Horse Memorial. It's another sculpture in stone - but actually much bigger - it's been over 60 yrs. in the making and still not close to being finished. In the evening went back into Custer State Park looking for more wildlife - only one Bison but saw more of the burros, prairie dogs, turkeys, and plenty of pronghorn deer. The weather has been nice and cool out west (60s) and we've seen 49 different license plates so far - saw Hawaii finally today and then saw another one an hour later.....Only plate we haven't seen so far.....New Hamshire.....In the morning we're heading to Devils Tower (Close Encounters) and then Cody, Wy. for the Rodeo.  After that, 3 days in Yellowstone - don't think we'll have any internet access or cell phone service....how will we survive ???
